UFCW District Union Local One Endorses Mayor Walsh for Re-election flag

Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh announced he has received the endorsement of the United Food and Commercial Workers District Union Local One for re-election as mayor. UFCW Local One represents over 17,000 members working in retail food, drug, food processing, transportation, hospitals and nursing homes in Upstate New York and Northern Pennsylvania.

“Virtually every day, we come in contact with UFCW members. Whether it's taking care of our family members, serving us at retail counters, transporting our goods, or manufacturing the products we need, UFCW workers are critical to our community,” said Mayor Walsh. “As a proud former member, I am honored to receive the endorsement of UFCW District Union Local One.”

Walsh is a former union member (Laborers’ Local 633 and UFCW Local One) and employee of the New York State AFL-CIO. With this latest endorsement, Walsh has now received the endorsements of seven major unions including IBEW Local 43, IBEW Local 97, the North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 158 and the International Union of Painters & Allied Trades District Council No. 4, Local 31.
