In 2012, during my time at the City I was approached by representatives from Bankers Healthcare Group (BHG), who were in the process of trying to determine whether to grow their Syracuse or Florida operations. As they zeroed in on a potential location in Franklin Square, our team quickly mobilized to provide them with the necessary financial support to make the Syracuse location cost competitive.
The result was a private investment of over $3 million to convert an old sheet metal factory into a state-of-the-art office where they have grown from 47 to around 130 employees over the past five years. BHG has earned a spot on Inc. Magazine's List of America's Fastest Growing Private Companies in 9 of the last 11 years.
As Mayor, I will work tirelessly to retain and grow innovative job creating businesses like BHG in our city.
